This Jacaranda tree, unique for South Texas, with its trumpet-shaped lavender flowers, resides within the Tip O’Texas Resort.

Located close to Pharr, covering 63 acres, and seating over 2000 is the Devotion to Our Lady of San Juan del Valle. The  Basilica originated from a “miracle” that occurred in Mexico in 1623. The original shrine was dedicated in 1954, but destroyed by fire in 1970. A new shrine was dedicated in 1980, and in 1998 was designated as a National Shrine. Averaging 20,000 visitors a week, it is one of the most visited shrines in the United States.
